Market firm comScore research on Friday released its latest survey of more than 30,000 owners of U.S. smartphone which showed that the 34.7% property Android phones in the three months ending March 31, from 28.7 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2010.
In general, said comScore, there were 72.5 million owners of smartphone in the United States in the three months ended March 31, a 14.7 percent the 63.2 million in the fourth quarter of last year.
Android phones research evicted in BlackBerry of the movement from the first place on the edge of the United States saw its market share fall to 27.1 per cent of 31.6 per cent in the fourth quarter. It is not surprising that Microsoft and Palm saw its market share as small get smaller. Mobile platform for Microsoft windows was used by 7.5 per cent of the respondents comScore in the first quarter, down 8.4% in the previous quarter. Palm fell to 2.8 percent of 3.7%.
comScore also requested mobile subscribers how they use their phones. The higher use is much text, with 68.6% reports text messages in the first quarter, up 68.0% in the fourth quarter.
After the tests, the second most popular of the use of smartphones in the first quarter was surfing the Internet (38.6%), followed by "use downloaded applications" (37.3%), "accessed blog or social networking site" (27.3%), "played games" (25.7%) and "listen to music on mobile phone" (17.9%).
